Cairo - Arab Today

Egyptian Minister of Justice Ahmed Zend suggests a pan-Arab deal for adjusting conditions of refugees of Arab children.

During a meeting Tuesday with Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Egypt Elizabeth Tan, Zend underlined the importance of securing shelter, education and health services for children refugees.

Zend called for an international conference under the auspices of UNICEF and the Arab League to display pictures and documents reflecting the suffering of children refugees in makeshift camps.

He underlined the importance of Arab and international cooperation to protect these children that can be manipulated by terrorists.

Meanwhile, Zend welcomed a request by Arab Women Organization Chairperson Mervat Telawi - who was attending the meeting - on the ministry's participation in the AWO conference in April to bring to limelight the suffering of the Syrian children to issue identity papers to get their rights to education and health services.

Zend also called on the UNCHR to offer more care for children refugees of countries suffering from armed conflicts.
