The board of directors of the Arab and International Relations Council, headed by Mohammad Jassem Al-Saqer, held a meeting here on Monday to discuss the latest developments of the Palestinian issue, Israeli-Palestinian negotiations and the Middle East peace process.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Saqer said that the two-day meeting will focus on the ways of reviving the Arab Peace Initiative in light of the latest developments of Israeli-Palestinian talks.
The gathering also tackles the situations in the Middle East region and the Arab role required to draw up its future, he noted.
The conferees thrash out radical political ideology as it constitutes a major challenge to the tolerance of Islam and the concept of civil state, he said, noting they focus on reactivating the role of the Arab League.
Iraqi Vice President Ayad Allawi, former Moroccan Foreign Minister Mohammad Bin Isa, former Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, former Jordanian Prime Minister Taher Al-Masri, former Arab League chief Amr Moussa are taking part in the meeting.
Also Sudanese Minister of Investment Mustafa Osman Ismail and former Palestinian Minister of Information Mustafa Al-Barghouthi are also present in the gathering.
The council was established in Kuwait in 2009 as an Arab and international non-profitable organization to provide the Arab decision with right information and an objective opinion on international relations.
