
Some 24 ISIL fighters and seven Kurdish troopers were killed in the northern city of Ain Al-Arab, or Kobane, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Tuesday.
In a statement, SOHR said the ISIL fighters were killed in ambushes set by Kurdish protection units in the premises of a school earlier today.
The statement noted that more ISIL fighters were killed in clashes north of Mashta Noor neighborhood, while a number of civilians were killed due to mortar shell rounds on the area. Moreover, SOHR said that seven of the Kurdish protection units lost their lives.
Meanwhile, an opposition fighter and six pro-Syrian regime elements were killed in clashes in Aleppo, while a Kurdish protection units' fighter was killed and three others injured in clashes with ISIL near the village of Palestine in Jazaa countryside.
