Palestinian factions were informed on Sunday that a new round of Egyptian-brokered talks with Israel, due to take place tomorrow to consolidate a ceasefire that ended Israel's 50-day war in the Gaza Strip, has been postponed, Hamas announced on Sunday.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum told reporters that Egypt had informed the movement that governs the Gaza Strip that the indirect negotiations, scheduled to resume in Cairo on Monday, had been postponed. No new date has been set for the next round of the negotiations.
The talks were aimed to extend the indefinite truce, tackle the latest Israeli breaches, as well as seek to end the Israeli blockade of the coastal enclave.
