Security Council calls for end to DRC war

The U.N. Security Council expressed concern about violence attributed to a Congolese militant group and condemned outside support for the rebels. Rebel Gen. Bosco Ntaganda led a mutiny with the support of rebels from the so-called M23 militia in April. His forces said the government of Democratic Republic of Congo reneged on a 2006 peace deal that saw his troops integrated into the national military. Ntaganda is the subject of two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court. U.N. and humanitarian groups have expressed concern about the humanitarian crisis in the north of the country. A Security Council resolution condemned M23 attacks, urging the rebel force \"and all armed groups to cease all forms of violence, including acts of sexual violence and the recruitment and use of children.\" The council further expressed concern about \"any and all\" outside support for M23. Rwanda was accused of backing DRC militants, though the government there denies the allegations.
