One person was killed and one is missing after a steel plant caught fire in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at noon on Thursday, said local authorities.
The fire broke out at 12:30 p.m. during an overhaul operation at Bayi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd in Urumqi, the regional capital. The fire was put out one hour later, Xinhua reported.
The cause is being investigated.
