1 policeman killed, 13 wounded in clash with gunmen in Chechnya

A group of policemen came into an armed clash with a group of gunmen on Saturday morning on the Western outskirts of the village of Kharsenoi, the Shatoi district of Chechnya, report said. \"One policeman died from wounds he sustained in the exchange of fire while being rushed to hospital. Thirteen other policemen, six of whom sustained gunshot wounds of moderate degree and the others concussions and other injuries, have been delivered to the Chechen Interior Ministry\'s medical center,\" it said. The injured policemen received all the necessary medical aid, and their lives are out of danger, the Voice of Russia reported. \"Law enforcement officials are taking measures to hunt down, blockade, and kill the members of the criminal underworld in the hardly accessible mountainous forested area,\" it said.
