At least 10 people, including seven women, were killed and more than 35 others injured in a road mishap in the western Indian state of Maharashtra Monday night, a senior police officer said Tuesday. "The mishap happened when a bus in which the victims were traveling fell off a bridge on the Pune-Satara road near Khambatki Ghat after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle. All the victims were tourists traveling to the neighboring state of Gujarat," he said, on condition of anonymity. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital. A probe has been ordered into the mishap, he added.
