Two mudslides killed 11 people and left 14 others missing in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Monday, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
One villager died and four others were buried when a mudslide hit a village in Yuxi City at 12:30 p.m. (0430 GMT), the local government said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a mudslide in a village in Dai-Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture of Dehong early in the morning killed 10.
Yunnan is prone to mudslides as more than 90 percent of the province is mountainous, and most of its regions have entered the annual flood season. Since the beginning of this flood season, as of Monday, more than 140 people in Yunnan have been killed or are missing due to disasters caused by heavy rain, according to the provincial meteorological bureau.
