Shelling and clashes in Donetsk, Eastern Ukraine, have left 12 people dead and 27 injured over the last 24 hours, the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Tuesday.
Five militiamen and seven civilians died. Nineteen militiamen and eight civilians were wounded, the ministry said, Itar-Tass reported.
On October 20, the Donetsk People’s Republic authorities reported on the attacks on Donetsk by Ukrainian security forces, including with the use of heavy artillery guns, multiple launch rocket systems and tactical missiles.
The DPR Prime Minister, Alexander Zakharchenko, said, "I believe that if the shelling of Donetsk continues and if the Ukrainian authorities talk about the truce, they lie." "The Ukrainian authorities did not even think about a truce," he said.
