At least 14 people were killed and 10 others injured Saturday when their bus fell into a 700 meter deep gorge in Chamba district in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, police said.
The death toll could rise as rescue operation was still on looking for the injured or dead as night was falling, said police.
The bus was reportedly overloaded while running fast on a zigzagging hilly road.
Road accidents take place frequently in India due to reckless driving, overpacking, bad road conditions and lack of security measures.
