Maoist rebels in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand have killed 16 members of a rival group in an apparent revenge attack, police said Sunday, according to dpa.
The clash between the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and its breakaway faction, Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), took place in the Palamu district on Saturday, regional deputy police chief Ravi Kant Dhan said.
'We have information that 16 TPC rebels died in the attack that ended Saturday evening. The TPC cadre took away the bodies of their fallen fighters,' Dhan said over phone.
