An overloaded extension cord may have sparked the weekend fire in a home in Orofino, Idaho, that killed two adults and three teenagers, authorities said. The victims, whose names had not been released, were a couple, their two teenage children and a friend who was staying over for a birthday party, WTVB-TV, Boise reported. The fire broke out about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and engulfed the house, Fire Chief Mike Lee said. It was a half hour before firefighters could get inside to look for victims, he said.. While an overloaded extension cord on the front porch was suspected of igniting the fire, the official cause was still under investigation, WTVB-TV said. The Orofino Fire Department said the house was not equipped with any working smoke detectors.
