Two hospital workers were killed in an apparent murder-suicide at a major hospital in the U.S. city of Houston Wednesday, local media reported.
The shooting took place Wednesday afternoon at an out-patient pharmacy in Ben Taub General Hospital, according to the Houston Chronicle.
A male pharmacist came up to one of his colleagues, a woman he was allegedly pursuing, and shot her dead with a handgun. The murderer then turned the weapon to himself and committed suicide.
They were pronounced dead at the scene after police arrived. The identities of both workers have not been released.
The shooting was in view of up to seven pharmacy employees. Several customers were at the scene but did not witness the shooting, police said. No others were hurt in the incident.
The pharmacy was not in the main part of the hospital. It is in an attached building, accessible through a walkway. The incident had no impact on hospital operations, authorities said.
