
Two people were killed and more than 92,600 people were affected because of flooding brought by continuous rains and thunderstorms due to intertropical convergence zone during the past days, a senior government official said Monday. National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) executive director Eduardo del Rosario said the two victims, one of them a five-year old girl, drowned after they were swept by strong water currents in separate occasions both in central Philippine province of Antique. He said that a total of 18,828 families, or 92,658 people, from four regions in central and southern Philippines have been affected by the weather disturbance.
