2 more Russia plane-crash bodies exhumed

The Polish military said Monday it exhumed the bodies of two priests killed in the 2010 Smolensk, Russia, plane crash, that killed President Lech Kaczynski. It was the third set of exhumations this year involving the eight crew members and 88 passengers killed in the accident, RIA Novosti reported. The bodies of the priests, both buried in Warsaw, will be tested to verify their identity. \"Concerns that the bodies may have been exchanged arose after studying documents produced by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, as well as due to opinions of Polish experts\" the military prosecutor, Capt. Andrzej Wicharski said. Twice this fall, investigators twice exhumed the bodies of four of the victims -- including the last Polish president in exile, Ryszard Kaczorowski -- proving they had been buried in the wrong graves. In all cases, family members had misidentified the remains, RIA Novosti reported. Three other bodies were exhumed in 2011 at the request of relatives and were found to be correctly identified. The Tu-154 airplane, which carried Kaczynski and a delegation of senior Polish officials, crashed April 10, 2010, while trying to land in a heavy fog.
