Two bodies of the crew members from the F/A-18 fighter jet that crashed Wednesday in central Switzerland have been found, the Swiss Federal Department of Defense said Thursday afternoon. It said in a statement that the victims of the accident were a pilot of the Swiss Air Force and a physician of the Institute of Aviation Medicine (IMA) who participated in this training flight as a passenger. The bodies will be submitted to the forensic expertise and the \"black box\" has been found, according to the statement. The fighter jet went down at around 13:50 local time Wednesday near the village of Alpnach, where a military airport is located, in the canton of Obwalden. This is the second time that this type of fighter jet crashed in Switzerland. On April 7, 1998, another F/A-18D went down in the canton of Valais in southwestern Switzerland during an interception exercise, killing the two pilots.
