Two police officers were killed and 17 injured in a special operation against suspected militants in Chechnya\'s Shatoi District, a district police source said on Sunday. \"Two police were killed and 17 were injured,\" he said. A spokeswoman for the regional Investigative Committee department confirmed the two deaths, but said 15 people were injured. She said one police was killed immediately and the other succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. It was not immediately known whether any of the gunmen were killed or injured in the shootout, Russia\'s (RIA Novosti) News Agency reported. The woodland where suspected militants are hiding was cordoned off. Police will start combing it at dawn.
