At least two policemen were killed Tuesday in a grenade attack on their security checkpoint in western Afghanistan, police said.
The incident occurred in Obe district at 11 am [0630 GMT], according to Abdul Raof Ahmadi, Herat provincial police spokesman.
"Two armed men on a motorbike tossed a grenade at a police security checkpoint and fled the area," dpa quoted Ahmadi as saying.
No group claimed immediate responsibility for the attack.
