
At least four people including a policeman were killed and two others injured in two separate incidents of firing in Pakistan's southwest Quetta city on Monday, local media and police said.
In the first attack, three people including the policeman was killed when some unknown gunmen opened fire at people standing near a passport office at Joint Road area of Quetta, the capital city of the country's southwest Balochistan province.
Police said that the attack seems to be an outcome of sectarian violence as the killed and injured people belonged to minority Shia ethnic group of Hazara.
The police said that the assailants, who came and fled on motorbikes, used 9mm pistols in the attack.
The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital.
In a separate attack in Jinnah Town area of the city, the manager of a non-government organization (NGO) was killed in firing by unknown gunmen.
The 45-year-old deceased was working for women empowernment and poverty alleviation in the city.
Police said that both the attacks are a continuation of the recent spree of target killing in the province which killed over 20 people including eight policemen last month.
