Four workers were seriously injured in a winery accident at the city of Herakleion on Crete island on Tuesday, local police said.
Two of the injured were in critical condition in intensive care, according to sources from the local hospital where they were all transferred with burns from chemicals used to clean a distillery tank.
An investigation was launched to determine the conditions of the accident.
Two weeks ago three people died of carbon monoxide poisoning at a distillery tank on the Ionian Sea island of Lefkada during similar maintenance works and an inquiry was launched to check whether safety measures were implemented.
