At least 45 gold miners were killed when they were buried in a tunnel collapse in the Central African Republic, the local radio station Bambari reported Tuesday. Authorities initially reported the number of dead at 37 in Sunday\'s cave-in, which occurred after heavy rains in the gold- and diamond-rich village of Ndassima in the east-central district of Ouaka. It remained unclear how many miners were underground at the time of the accident, according to DPA. Residents equipped with pickaxes and shovels were trying to recover the bodies, the radio station said.
