5 fire incidents at Virginia College

Classes at Virginia's Christopher Newport University were canceled after firefighters responded to five bathroom fires in five hours, the school said. The fires at the Newport News, Va., college all occurred Tuesday afternoon, and Tuesday evening classes were cancelled, the (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported, adding classes were scheduled to resume Wednesday morning. The fires are considered suspicious, and state police are investigating, the newspaper added. No injuries were reported, and damage was minimal, the university said.
