
At least 51 Taliban militants were killed following joint military operations conducted by Afghan national security forces.
The operations were conducted in Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Logar, herat, Ghor, Kunduz, Uruzgan adn Kpisa provinces in the past 24 hours, according to (Khaama Press).
Ministry of Interior Affairs of Afghanistan said in a statement Afghan national police forces conducted the operations in cooperation with the Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence – national directorate of security (NDS) operatives.
The statement further added that 38 Taliban militants were also injured and four others were arrested during the operations.
Afghan national security forces confiscated various types of heavy and light weapons along with ammunition and explosives during the operations, the ministry said.
Afghan police forces also discovered and seized seven improvised explosive device (IED) during operations in Kandahar and Paktika provinces.
The Interior Ministry said the IEDs were recently planted by Taliban militants to carry out insurgency attacks.
