
Seven workers were confirmed dead following a fatal scaffold collapse that buried 14 in east China's Anhui Province, local authorities said Saturday.
The framework crumbled at around 11 a.m. Friday at a construction site of a power plant in Huainan City, the government said.
Eight of the trapped workers were pulled out and sent to hospital on Friday, with one dead after unsuccessful attempts to save him. The bodies of the remaining six, all confirmed dead, were retrieved as of 12:35 p.m. Saturday, the government said.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
