7 sought in death of drunk German man

German police are appealing for witnesses in the death of a German-Vietnamese man severely beaten by a group of attackers in Berlin early Sunday morning. The 20-year-old man was attacked after friends left him in a closed beer garden to go look for a taxi after a night of drinking, The Local.de reported. Police confirmed Monday afternoon that the victim had died. The city\'s interior minister, Frank Henkel, said he wanted to increase the police presence in the central part of the city where the attack occurred. He also called for discussions about growing violence. \"We cannot close our eyes to this problem and silently look on as brutalization and coldness spread through our center, and reduce inhibitions,\" he said. The problem of violence began with the attackers, Henkel added. \"Some have obviously lost all civilized standards. That is a challenge for all of us,\" he said. Seven men are reported to have attacked the German-Vietnamese man, who was so inebriated he was unable to walk by himself. During the assault, the man\'s head was stomped. Emergency workers had to resuscitate him at the scene. The men being sought are believed to have been at a Turkish party at a nearby bar, the Tagesspiegel newspaper reported The attack appears to have been unprovoked. Police believe it was motivated by \"nothing more than pure bloodlust.\"
