9 killed in road accidents in Turkey

Nine people died in traffic accidents in Turkey's Konya and Izmir provinces, local Today's Zaman reported Sunday. The accident in Konya, in the central part of Turkey, took place on Saturday when a car drove into the wrong lane and collided with a pickup truck coming from the other direction, leaving 5 passengers dead. In Izmir's Bergama district a driver lost control of his car and went over a cliff. All four people in the car died. Local police are conducting investigations into the incidents.
