A helicopter with 14 people on board goes missing in Peru

A Peruivian helicopter Sikorsky S-58T carrying 14 people ,over a mountain range between the cities of Mazuko to Marcapata in the south-eastern department of Cusco when it ceased radio communications disappeared in the mountains of Peru, a police spokesman said according to radio broadcaster RPP late Thursday. A spokeswoman for the flight operator HeliCusco said those on board consisted of eight South Koreans, a Czech, a Swede, a Dutch citizen, and three Peruvians including two crew members. Authorities had detected a radio transmission apparently coming from the downed aircraft, a South Korean diplomat in Lima was quoted as saying Thursday by South Korea\'s Yonhap News Agency. A rescue helicopter was sent to the scene late Thursday, but falling snow was hindering search efforts, the company spokeswoman said.
