Afghan Army Kills 34 ISIS Militants Following Post Attack
Kabul - ArabToday
A total of 34 ISIS militants were killed after Afghan army struck their positions in the country's eastern province of Nangarhar, a provincial government spokesman on Saturday.
"Over the past 24 hours, Afghan army personnel backed by local tribesmen fighters and Afghan air force pounded several ISIS hideouts in Haska Mina district, killing 34 militants," Attahullah Khogyani told Xinhua news agency.
About 16 ISIS militants were wounded and seven arrests were made following the raids, the spokesman added.
On Thursday night, dozens of ISIS militants attacked an army checkpoint in the restive district, killing 17 army soldiers.
Khogyani said the raid was launched in response to the recent ISIS attack against the army post in the district south of provincial capital Jalalabad city, 120 km east of national capital of Kabul.
The mountainous province has been the scene of clashes between security forces and ISIS militants since the emergence of the group there in early 2015.

Paris - Emiratesvoice
Two months after legendary designer Azzedine Alaia's sudden death plunged the fashion world into mourning, an exhibition in homage to the "King of Cling" opens Monday in his studios in Paris. The Tunisian-born designer, renowned for the way his clothes hugged the body, died suddenly in November aged 82, reportedly of heart failure after falling down the stairs at his home. The diminutive maverick, who ignored fashion week convention by showing when and where he wanted, in July produced his first couture collection in six years to rapturous reviews. Now some of his most iconic dresses are going on display in the glass-roofed gallery next to his studio and home in the Marais district where he used to show his creations. It includes the dress worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell, his longtime friend and muse, when she led
