Afghanistan, Pakistan sign long-term pact

The presidents of Afghanistan and Pakistan agreed to sign a long-term strategic cooperation agreement between the two countries, officials said. An Afghan government official said Thursday Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari agreed to sign the pact during the U.N. General Assembly in New York, Khaama Press reported. Details of the agreement were not known. Afghanistan has signed long-term strategic cooperation agreements with the United States and other nations. The Afghan Review said the pact with the United States covered \"security, economics and governance.\"
