At least 13 suspected militants, including foreigners, were killed in precise aerial strikes by Pakistan military in Khyber tribal Agency of northern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said military on Tuesday.
A statement by media wing of Pakistan military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, "Strikes were carried out on credible intelligence about presence of terrorists involved in Wagah border suicide attack." During the strikes, fighter jets destroyed three militant hideouts, including an ammunition depot in Daras area of Khyber Agency.
Earlier in the month, at least 60 people were killed in a suicide attack during a regular flag lowering ceremony at Wagah border in eastern Lahore city. The air strikes came on the day when at least four security men lost their lives and over 24 militants were killed in clashes and roadside bombing in northern Pakistan's tribal region, media reported.
The strikes are the continuation of the major offensives launched by Pakistan military against the foreign and local militants in the North Waziristan and Khyber tribal regions.
