Airstrikes
Islamabad - KUNA

At least 20 suspected militants were killed and several others injured on Sunday as Pakistan military fighter jets bombarded the militants' hideouts in Khyber tribal region of northern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said reports.
The fighter jets targeted militants' hideouts in Sipah, Malakdin Khel, Nalan Sur Kas areas of Bara Tehsil in the fresh strikes.
Five militants' hideouts were destroyed in the air strikes killing at least twenty suspected militants, said THE reports. The artillery and mortar fire supported the air strikes by the military.
Large number of people has been moving to safer places as the military paced up the offensive against the militants in Khyber. The Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) said that around 45,000 had migrated from the Khyber Agency in the wake of military operation 'Khyber-I' against the militants in the region. The FDMA chairman, Muhammad Haseeb told media that four registration camps were established in Khyber Agency for registration of Internally Displaced Persons.
Khyber IS connected to outskirts of provincial capital Peshawar and is among Pakistan's seven semi-autonomous tribal regions near the Afghan border.
The air strikes came at a time when Pakistan military is undergoing a major offensive against foreign and local militants in North Waziristan tribal region since June.
