At least one dead as Mi-8 chopper crash lands in Russia

It is not immediately clear whether the other three people on board the crashed helicopter survived. Another Mi-8 helicopter crash landed on July 12 in the northern Komi Republic with no casualties. The production of multipurpose Mi-8 helicopters started in 1965 in the city of Kazan. As of 2010, more than 10,000 Mi-8 helicopters have been produced, and more than 2,000 exported to some 40 countries.
