Belgrade and Pristina to carry out investigation into the missing

Amnesty International called upon authorities in Belgrade and Pristina to carry out prompt, efficient and unbiased investigation into all who have been suspected of being involved in abduction of people before, during and after the armed conflict in Kosovo in 1999, Voice of Serbia reported on Saturday.
The report that comes on the occasion of August 30, International Day of the Missing, reads that some 1,700 people went missing in Kosovo although 15 years have passed since the conflict ended.
According to Amnesty records, there are 7,800 and 2,200 missing persons in B-H and Croatia respectively. Pointing that throughout the region families are still waiting for remains of their relatives to be found, Amnesty International calls upon all former army commanders and political leaders to provide full details about locations of potential mass graves and re-establish protocols to exchange such information.
