Flights at a Turkish airport were postponed Thursday while ordinance experts detonated a bomb on a bridge near a village, officials said. Officials said the explosive device was defused after about two hours, Today\'s Zaman reported. Security forces, acting on a tip, located the bomb on a bridge near Carikli in Diyarbakir province. The device reportedly was planted by the terrorist group Kurdistan Workers\' Party near the airport that serves both military and civilian traffic. Today\'s Zaman said Diyarbakir police contacted the Second Air Fleet Command, airport officials and the Eighth Main Jet Base Command to ensure military and civilian flights at the air facility were delayed after the explosives were found beneath a bridge near two runways.
