China has the desire to work together with other parties to play a constructive role in pushing forward a resolution to the Somali humanitarian crisis, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Monday. Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin made the remark at a daily press briefing while commenting on UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon\'s visit to Somalia. \"We have paid attention to the situation in Somalia,\" Liu said, adding that China hopes Somalia will put an end to internal disorder as soon as possible and realize peaceful development. The spokesman said China supports the positive role of the international community, including the UN, in promoting the Somali peace process and easing the country\'s current crisis. China also appreciates Ban Ki-moon\'s efforts regarding the issue, Liu said. Ban and top ranking UN officials paid a visit to Somalia on Friday and held talks with senior Somali leaders, including Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, Prime Minister Abdelweli Mohamed Ali and Speaker of the Somali Parliament Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adam.
