
At least four security men lost their lives and over 24 militants were killed in clashes in roadside bombing in northern Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan, said reports on Tuesday.
At least two security personnel were killed and two others were injured in a blast targeting a security forces vehicle in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said officials.
According to the officials, four personnel were injured in the improvised explosive devise (IED) attack whereas two of them succumbed to injuries in hospital.
Moreover, the militants attacked a check post in Shirin Dara area of Orakzai tribal agency resulting in a clash that left 15 militants and two soldiers dead, media reported.
The security forces successfully repulsed the attack. The injured were shifted to the nearby military hospital.
Meanwhile, clashes between security forces and militants in the Akakhel area of Bara Agency killed at least nine militants and injured twelve others, said reports.
Tuesday's clashes and bombing in the tribal area came at a time when Pakistan military was engaged in major offensives against local and foreign militants in North Waziristan and Khyber tribal regions.
