At least 23 people have been killed after a bomb exploded near a bus terminal in a tribal region of north-west Pakistan, officials say. The blast took place in the town of Jamrud in the Khyber tribal region, an area where militants have previously launched deadly attacks. One report said most of the dead were bus passengers. Dozens were injured. Many of the injured have been taken to hospital in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan\'s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. Details are still sketchy but police officials say they believe that the bomb was planted in a vehicle and detonated remotely. \"It was huge blast and caused damage to a number of vehicles at the bus terminal,\" Khyber tribesman Khan Zaman is quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency. Several militant groups fighting the government are active in the Khyber region. The Pakistani army has carried out several offensives against militants in their tribal strongholds.
