At least 30 people have been confirmed killed in the two bomb explosions at two motor parks in Nigeria's northeastern Gombe metropolis on Wednesday night, rescuers said Thursday.
The first blast occurred at Dadinkowa motor park around 7:30 pm local time (1830 GMT), followed by the second at Dukku motor park hours later.
Besides the fatalities, 105 injured people have been hospitalized, Malam Abubakar Yakubu, secretary of the Nigeria Red Cross Society in Gombe state, told Xinhua.
Local residents blame extremist group Boko Haram for the recent attacks in Nigeria. The group usually claims responsibility for such attacks in the West African country.
Since 2009, Boko Haram has killed more than 13,000 people in violent attacks in Nigeria, Africa's most populous country and biggest economy, and its bloody campaign has been escalating.
Details remain sketchy, and it is still unknown whether the blasts were suicide attacks. Many of the recent attacks were carried out by young female suicide bombers.
