Motorists are being advised to avoid parts of the M25 after a fatal crash. A silver BMW collided with an articulated lorry at 23:55 GMT on Monday near junction 11 for Chertsey, Surrey Police said. The BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene and is yet to be formally identified. The lorry driver was uninjured. The M25 is shut clockwise at junctions 10-11. The crash has been referred to the police complaints watchdog. A spokeswoman for the force said: \"The M25 clockwise will remain closed for several hours while emergency services deal with incident. \"Motorists are asked to avoid travelling in the area until the carriageway can be be reopened. \"This will particularly affect motorists travelling to Gatwick and Heathrow airports.\" Surrey Police has not revealed why the matter had been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
