Flash floods caused by a low pressure killed two people in the northern Philippine province of Camarine Sur, a senior government official said on Wednesday. Under-secretary Benito Ramos, executive director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), identified the victims as Lea Alarcio, 18, from Monte Calvario village in Buhi town, and Agripina Minante, 81, from Himagtucan village in Lagonoy town. Alarcio drowned when she fell down while crossing an overflowed spillway. Minante drowned due to flash floods. Authorities had evacuated thousands of families in Albay, Misamis Oriental and Sarangani provinces because of massive flooding.
