
At least 20 militants were killed in fresh air strikes in North Waziristan tribal region of northern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan on Tuesday, said military.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of Pakistan military, operation Zarb-e-Azb was underway successfully and the fighter jets targeted the militantsآ’ hideouts in North Waziristan. The air strikes were carried out in the Dattakhel area of North Waziristan, local media reported.
The air strikes are a continuation of the comprehensive military operation against the foreign and local militants launched since June 15 after deadly militantsآ’ attack at the international airport of Karachi city.
The offensive has driven out over 800,000 residents from North Waziristan and the military has cleared 90 per cent of the tribal region.
