German police officer arrested over killing

A German policeman has been arrested on suspicion of killing a man whom he met on a fetishist website for cannibalism, authorities in the eastern city of Dresden said Friday. Local police said the suspect confessed to slashing the throat of his 59-year-old victim from Hanover who had fantasised about being murdered and eaten since his youth. The suspect then cut his body into small pieces and buried them in his garden. However, there has been no evidence that the 55-year-old suspect, who worked as a technical expert in the local criminal investigation department, practiced any act of cannibalism. The killing took place on Nov. 4 when the two met in person for the first time, a month after the two first met on a fetishist website for cannibalism, police said.
