One girl and her killer were dead after a shooting spree Friday at a high school in the north-western US state of Washington, officials said.
The teenaged attacker shot five people in the head at close range before turning the gun on himself, dpa quoted Commander Robb Lamoureux of the Marysville police department and a hospital official as saying.
Four surviving victims were critically injured and undergoing surgery.
The shooter was identified in local media as 14-year-old Jaylen Fryberg, a 9th-grade student. Two victims were identified as 15-year-old as Andrew Fryberg and Nate Hatch, 14, both said to be cousins of the gunman.
