A gunman on Thursday shot dead two aid workers in Somalia\'s war-torn capital Mogadishu, a security official said, with witnesses reporting them both to be foreigners. \"Two aid workers were shot dead inside their offices here and we have reports that it was a security man in the compound who killed them,\" said government security officer Mohamed Ali. \"One died straight away, another was seriously wounded and died soon after,\" said a witness who asked not to be named, adding that both were foreigners. It was not clear what happened to the gunman. The shooting is the latest attack on humanitarian officials in the Horn of Africa nation, one of the most dangerous places in the world for aid workers. Last week a gunman killed three Somali aid workers, including two World Food Programme staff, in the central Hiran region. Three regions of south Somalia are still in a state of famine, and close on 250,000 people are in danger of dying of starvation, according to the UN.
