India Monday paid tributes to the victims of Mumbai terror attacks on the fourth anniversary of the massacre in which over 170 people were killed and more than 300 others injured. Indian Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, the western state\'s Home Minister R.R. Patil, Mumbai Police chief Satyapal Singh were among those who offered floral tributes to the martyrs of the terror attacks in November 2008 at various places along with the families of the victims. Security has also been stepped up across Mumbai and Indian capital, sources said. The Mumbai terror attacks were 11 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across India\'s financial capital by 10 Pakistani militants who entered the city through sea route from Karachi. The 2008\'s three-day rampage, which began on November 26 and lasted till November 29, drew widespread global condemnation. The only terrorists caught alive in the attacks, Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, was hanged last week in a high security jail in the western city of Pune, after Indian President Pranab Mukherjee rejected his clemency plea earlier this month. Kasab was sentenced to death by a special Indian court in 2010, which was confirmed by the High Court in Mumbai subsequently. His death sentence was upheld by India\'s Supreme Court this year. India claims Pakistani-based banned terror outfit Lashker-e- Toiba was behind the attacks and given at least seven dossiers containing evidence to Islamabad which claims it\'s is not satisfied with the proof.
