Indonesian group rescued after 4-day tiger ordeal

Indonesian rescuers on Monday saved five men in Aceh province on Sumatra island who were trapped in trees for four days while five tigers waited for them below, police said. A sixth man was killed by the endangered Sumatran tigers on Thursday in the Mount Lauser National Park in Tamiang districk, local police chief Dicky Sondani said. The men were looking for precious agarwood, a resinous heartwood used for perfume and incense, when they encountered the tigers, Sondani was quoted as saying by DPA. They sent mobile text messages to their relatives after the attack, he said. \"The place is a tigers\' den so going there is like asking for trouble,\" Sondani said. At least 30 police, soldiers and tiger tamers were sent to the area to rescue the men, who survived by drinking rain water.
