A group of Iranian university students gathered in front of Swiss Embassy in Tehran in protest to the violent behavior of New York Police Department (NYPD) against the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters in New York. The gathering took place on Thursday upon an invitation by student unions, including the Association of University Students Islamic Societies of Independent University Students. The demonstrators chanted slogans such as “There is no more use for artillery, tank and Liberals”, “Down with the US, Down with Israel”, “Liberal Democracy is finished” and “Confronting Islam is the last nail in the US Coffin”. The demonstrators denounced the inhuman move by the US police and government in crushing the “Occupy Wall Street” movement in New York’s Wall Street and deemed it as contradictory to the statements of the US officials in support of human rights issues. The university students described the move by the US citizens as a sign of their political awareness vis-à-vis the Zionist lobby and US statesmen. The gathering ended with torching US flag while chanting anti-US and anti-Zionist regime mottos.
