
An Israeli plane, belonging to El Al Airlines, making its way from Bangkok to Tel Aviv had to make an emergency landing in Eritrea due to an engine malfunction, Israeli Channel 2 reported on Wednesday. The plane landed safely, El Al said in a statement, and passengers are being looked after at the Asmara International Airport while they await another plane. The Boeing 767 jet took off from Bangkok on Tuesday evening. A problem was detected in one its engines a few hours into the flight, and the pilots decided to make the emergency landing in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea.
