Kiev airports, railway station evacuated over bomb threat

Two terminals at Boryspil International Airport and Zhulyany airport as well as the central railway station in Ukraine's capital Kiev were evacuated Wednesday after a bomb threat. The emergency measure was taken after police received an anonymous call, in which the caller claimed that there were explosive devices in the two airports and inside the building of the train station, according to the press service of Kiev city police. Police were carrying out special inspections on the sites and an investigation was under way. It was not the first bomb alert in public places in Kiev this week. Subway stations in the capital were evacuated four times over the last three days after police received calls from unknown persons, who claimed there were bombs inside the metro. All these alerts turned out to be hoaxes. Police were searching for the callers, who may face eight years in prison.
